An Italian rapier, circa 1600 Double-edged thrusting blade of flattened hexagonal section with fullers on both sides, inscribed "ME FECIT EN ALEMANIA". A serrated crescent moon mark stamped twice on the obverse side of the ricasso. Chiselled iron knuckle-bow hilt with the original iron wire grip winding and Turk's heads. Unaltered condition with a slight film of rust on the surfaces.
