The fea richly embellifhes the fcenes,and adds much to the fublime appearance of this cave, which was hollowed by thewaves; it has two entrances, and forms a fplendid pifture both ways towards theocean. T^ H E River Bran, over which this Bridge is almoft formed by nature, may becalled the moft violent and noify ftream in Scotland; though fwiftnefs andopposition is their principal character. Under this arch, that has been joined by art, it tumbles down fifty feet perpen-dicular : the rocks about it are rich in fhrubs, and finely coloured, adding beautyto the foaming of the water. Remembering how much it is contrafted by furrounding defert plains, this fpotof beauty furprifes the more.
