The AutomaticAngle or straightway controlling floatvalve is a self-contained valve speciallyadapted for waterworks gate valves eliminate the use of largefloats and tanks. The upper portion of. INSTALLATION OF FLOAT VALVE the body is lined with bronze and thepiston is bronze fitted with rubber cupsand discs preventing any metal partscoming in contact. In one type, thevalve operating in a vertical positionand being cushioned at all times bj airand water in opening and closing, posi-tive operation on varying pressures isinforced without chattering or ham-mering. This type may be placedeither above or below the water as de-sired. The type illustrated here issomewhat different—it will operate on1/2 to fi inch variation. The methodof installation and operation is seen inthe accompanying diagram. Electrical Stop and Starter. The Golden-Anderson electrical stopand starter is a device for automaticallymaintaining uniform water levels intanks, standpipes and reservoirs bycontrolling the pumps.
