A doll hangs on a tree on the Island of the Dolls in Xochimilco southern Mexico City September 20 2008. The late Don Julian turned his chinampa a small artificial island where he grew food into what is now known as the Island of the Dolls as he hung dolls found floating around his home to scare away the ghost of a child who had drowned. Today visitors can tour the island as it is maintained by one of his nephews.
