A Marine advisor with Task Force Southwest meets with the Inspector General to inquire about any known pay issues at 1st Brigade, near New Garm Ser, Afghanistan, Sept. 23, 2017. The advisor met with key leaders throughout the 1st Brigade to assist in solving any identified financial issues. As part of the new South Asia strategy, Marines are advising down to the brigade- and kandak-levels where necessary to support Afghan National Defense and Security Force operations.
