A sapper's sabre for the Garde Constitutionelle, France, 1789 - 1792 A straight, single-edged blade with broad fullers on both sides, a double-edged point, and remnants of the etched purveyor's mark on the reverse side on the ricasso, which corresponds to the well-known inscription, "Coullier Rue St. Honore No. 574 A Paris". Rooster head hilt with feathered grip pieces and quillon finials bent downward. The fire gilding is largely in an excellent state of preservation. Length 85 cm. Blade length 68 cm.
