Manhyia Palace Museum, formerly a British colonial building, then residence of the Ashanti King, and now a museum (Kumasi Ghana)


The Manhyia Palace is the seat of the Ashanti people King Asantehene of Ashanti, as well as his official residence. Manhyia Palace is located at Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti and the Ashanti Kingdom. The first palace is now a palace museum. Ashanti King Opoku Ware II built the new palace which is close to the old one and is used by the current Ashanti King Asantehene Osei Tutu II.
