Breakwater blocks

Concrete breakwater blocks in place at Ukedo Fishing Port, Namie, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. On 11th March 2011 a magnitude earthquake 130 kilometres off this coast caused a devastating tsunami. The tsunami damaged the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station, leading to the meltdown of three of the nuclear reactors and a leak of radioactive material. Photographed in March 2020.
