Belt pouch (also referred to as a slit pouch due to the central opening, or as a shot pouch after a common use of this type of bag); it was worn folded over a belt. Decorated with plaited quillwork designs in natural, red and blue colors. Probably Great Lakes, late 18th c- early 19th c. Title: Native American slit pouch . between 1800 and 1850.
