Edward Waldo Forbes, Esq., director of the WilliamHayes Fogg Art Museum, believes that the portrait waspainted later than the year 1700. This picture has been reproduced in the Harvard Grad-uates Magazine for December, 1907, page 248. The headonly was engraved for the New England Historical andGenealogical Register for April, 1856.
