The work is gray andneutral in coloring, yet clear, strong, and fresh,in this respect Hobbema stands about mid-way between the golden manner of Cuyp andthe cool, sober style of Ruisdael. This paint-ing is one of the finest of Hobbemas, and is tobe seen in the National Callery, London. Itis on canvas, and measures three feet, four andonehalf inches high,by four feet, seven and onehalf inches wide.
