The place, that was on the so-called Gothic Line, in 1944 was the theatre of an atrocious massacre. In a few days, the SS men killed almost a thousand civilians (most of them women and children)to stop the actions of the partizan brigade "Stella Rossa"commanded by Mario Musolesi called the Wolf and destroyed their houses.
