Triple boson candidate event, CMS detector

3D computer graphic showing a proton-proton collision recorded with the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory. W bosons were created in the collision. W bosons are elementary particles that mediate the weak nuclear force. Two W bosons decay into quarks (yellow cones), the third boson has decayed into an electron (green line and narrow green energy deposit) and a neutrino (pink arrow).
