A relief bronze mirror (huaxiang jing), China, eastern Han period, 25 - 220 Cast with a slightly convex curved, smooth front side. On the reverse centre is a semi-circular loop knob surrounded by Taoist deities and four nubs. The edge has serrated line and wave-form decoration. Noble dark green patina, with some encrustation on both sides and a minor corrosion in place. Diameter cm. Weight 1400 g. Cf.
