The collections had previously been moved into the building and made readyfor exhibition, after being stored near by during the time between their enforcedremoval from the Exposition building and their placing in a permanent work of removal, renovating and mounting had been done by Mr. Frank Col-lins Baker, the newly elected curator. A new period of activity was begun when the society took possession of itspermanent home. The collections have grown, interest in its meetings and pub-li( lions has continually increased, and the museum library is in constant reachof the public and is much used by MATTHEW Willi his suns, George II. andLyeurgus Laflin, lie contributed thegreater portion of the fund with whichthe Matthew Memorial buildingw;is erected.
