Kirkland, Chancellor of Vanderbilt University, and Floyd Bralliar, all of whom have been breeding the iris exten- sively, are much interested these days, as their seedlings are opening. Some really good varieties are appearing for the first time this spring. With the largest building program on in the history of the south, the nursery- men are doing everything possible to produce a supply of ornamental stock for fall business. Probably the supply of good ornamental stock was never shorter in our district than at present. The fruit tree business has been rather disappointing, as it did not finish as well as it began. However, a full crop of fruit seems assured this year and, unless prices should be exceptionally low, this should bring about a good de- mand next year. Floyd Bralliar. MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. "We cleaned out our entire line of Easter plants, consisting of about 7,000 pots, besides our full line of cut flow- ers," said a member of Adams Florist. "Corsages were in the greatest de- mand and our business was the most successful in years.
