A carrousel, a Houseof Nonsense, and places for one or two other small amuse-ments will also be erected. On the bluff, overlooking thelagoon, a casino, 60 by 100 feet, is to be erected. Here it isproposed to establish a first-class restaurant, where meals ofthe better quality will be served. Two picnic pavilions, 30by 65 and 38 by 80 feet, will be erected in different parts of where the cars are carried up an incline by an endless-chainhoist to the station. The scenery along the railway is allnatural. A tract of 16 acres, at the upper end, including the upperlake, is fenced off from the other part of the grounds andreserved for private picnic parties and for the use of theJoliet Chautauqua Association, which meets for two weeks inJuly.
