Aesop's Goose and Golden Egg
Aesop was a sixth-century legendary composer of Greek fables whose characters were animals. Each fable had a moral. It was said that Aesop was a slave and had been freed by his master. Milo Winter (died 1956) was an American book illustrator. Among his works are illustrations of Aesop's fables. The one here is "The Goose and the Golden Egg" with the moral: Those who have plenty want more and so lose all they have.
