AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) occurs when HIV (human immunodeficiency viruses) infect the immune system's T-cells. HIV programmes the T- cells to produce more viruses, destroying the T- cells in the process. The microscopic robot could be programmed to travel through the blood vessels seeking out and destroying HIV.
