Bronze plaques commemorate this 1854 building as one of the original Pony Express stations that were vital to the first fast cross-country mail service in the United States between 1860-61. The hand-hewed log structure was moved from its initial location along the Oregon Trail and restored for display at Ehmen Park in Gothenburg, Nebraska, USA.

Bronze plaques commemorate this 1854 building as one of the original Pony Express stations that were vital to the first fast cross-country mail service in the United States between 1860-61. The hand-hewed log structure was moved from its initial location along the Oregon Trail and restored for display at Ehmen Park in Gothenburg, Nebraska, in 1931. Riders for the Pony Express stopped at each station to change horses in order to make the arduous 1,966-mile (3,164-km) journey in 10 days from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California.
