Batu Caves is a series of limestone caves in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia, located about 13km north of Kuala Lumpur. The cave complex contains many Hindu temples, the most popular of which is a shrine dedicated to Hindu god Murugan. It is the focal point of the Tamil festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia. The complex also hosts a 43m high Murugan statue, one of the largest in the world.
