The family is represented in the Campanian-Maastrichtian by 3 genera: Cytherella, Cytherelloidea, and Platella with 5 designated species and 4 mor- photypes. 2 of the species and all 4 morphotypes are inherited from the Santonian, whilst 1 species is restricted to the Campanian {Cytherelloidea griesbachi), and 2 are restricted to the Campanian-Maastrichtian (Cytherelloidea mfoloziensis and Platella africana)..
