Massive carved runestones Jellingstenene (Jelling stones) from X century, on the left king Gorm The Old's runestone from 955 for his wife Thyra; on the right king Harald Bluetooth Gormsson's runestone from 983 in memory of his parents, king Gorm the Old and queen Thyra, celebrating conquest of Denmark and Norway and christianization of Denmark. Both runestones are very important for history of Denmark. Behind there is a Romanesque Jelling kirke (church) built in 1100. The royal seat of first kings of Denmark with large stone ship, two large burial mounds, the Jelling stones of Viking Age and Romanesque Jelling Church is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
