A tiger ready for a cat nap BLACKPOOL ZOO, UK, AMAZING IMAGES taken in zoos across the UK show the gaping jaws of our most fearsome predators as-well-as the cutest critters trying their best to hold their own. Images show everything from a fearsome gorilla bearing its impressive canines to the king of the jungle showing off its jaws of steel, there's even the usually sleep sloth showing off its pearly whites. These images were captured by photographer Gary Cox (53) from Manchester England. Gary captured the toothy shots at zoos across the UK including Blackpool Zoo, Edinburgh Zoo and Chester Zoo on his Canon 80D and 100D. “If you are patient enough when photographing animals you can usually guarantee to see a yawn or two,” said Gary. “Capturing the moment is another thing but if you capture it right the resulting image can be very impressive. “I would say it is for big cats you can typically get a good yawing shot, although it is difficult to get the key moment, and keep it in focus. “For other animals it is a lot more hit and miss and a great result if you manage to capture the moment. “Usually I just hope that the camera worked at the key moment and mainly I pray that the image is in focus. “It is one of the few times you will see the majesty of animals teeth and this can be very impressive indeed. It brings it home to you that these really are wild animals. “My previous favourite shots were of the lions but I think my new favourite is the gibbon taken this week. I was taking his photo as he looked at me and he appeared all cute and cheeky. “Within a few seconds he yawned and seeing his incredible teeth he suddenly went from cute to terrifying. “I also love the silverback gorilla for the same reason. They don’t look like the teeth of herbivores at all. “People love these shots for the same reason I do, it epitomises the word ‘wild animal’ and makes us realise how different they are from us. “We also love to be scared and seeing these teeth doe
