The test stick's pads are checked against a reference chart after a specific amount of time has elapsed. Each pad tests for the presence (colour change) and/or quantity (colour intensity) of: leucocytes (white blood cells), nitrite, protein, pH (acidity), blood, specific gravity, ketone and glucose.
