The term tubercle is drawn from the rounded nodular form of the diseased process. The bacillus lodged in the tissue multiplies. ^4 ® 2.—A drazubig of a section of a very young tubercle in spleen. The affected points may be at first no larger than millet seed, but these may increase and run together so as to form conglomerate masses of one, six or nine inches in diameter. As the cell growth increases, the central ones degenerate, die, and form a yellowish.
