The wrought butts made had proven veryprofitable, the prices having very largely advanced and the demand constantlyincreasing. Beginning with January i, 1864, these goods, which had beensold at a discount of 20, 15, and 5 per cent, from the list, were advanced to apremium of 10 per cent, above the same list and later to 30 per cent, premium,where they remained for a number of years.
