Steatite scaraboid seal Greek 8th century BCE Flattened scaraboid of green, translucent steatite, perforated horizontally. Two men, in reversed positions, on either side of a large quadruped. The latter has its mouth wide open and is perhaps a lion, for ot has a long, tufted tail; but the long, erect ears (or horns) make the identity uncertain. In the field are other, nondescript animals and ornaments. View more. Steatite scaraboid seal. Greek. 8th century BCE. Steatite. Geometric. Gems
