Analysis of cement. Scientist analysing a sample of cement to determination the free lime content. The analysed free lime corresponds to the sum of quicklime (CaO) and hydrated lime, Ca (OH) 2. Limiting the free lime to less than 3 per cent avoids problems associated with the expansion of cement due to the hydration of lime.
