During a stay in Paris I showed my plant to Dr. Bornet. On looking into Herb. Thuret. a specimen w^as found which seemed to agree rather well with my plant. It was gathered at Guadeloupe by Mr. W. Schramm and was marked "Herb. Grouan Nr. 277" and determined as ^^Chrysymenia lomentaria Grouan". It is not mentioned in Maze et Schramm, "Essai de classification des Algues de la Guadeloupe". Further in Herb. Thuret two other specimens seemingly of the same plant were present and both were sent to Dr. Bornet from. Fig. 11. Coelarthrum Albertisii (Piccone) nob. Professor Farlow of Gambridge; they had been collected by him at the Bermuda Isles. These specimens in Plerb. Thuret, of which I have the loan from Museum d'Histoire Naturelle, in the collections of which Herb. Thuret is now incorporated, have on a more detailed examination proved to be identical with my specimen from St. Jan. Later also I have received from Professor Farlow another specimen from the Bermuda Isles and Prof. Farlow has also most kindly sent me a preparation of alcohol material, by means of which I have been able to make a more thorough examination than is possible with dried material. Moreover Prof. Farlow, who had determined the specimens in Herb. Thuret as "-Chrysymenia ?", has informed me that the plant in question is most probably identical with Chylodadia.
