Squash seed should never be planted till the soil is quite warm. Rich, light open soils are the best. Treatment the same as for melons. BUSH AND EABLY VARIETIES. Early Scallop Bush—The White and the Golden are the two beat early for market, and are abundant bearers. Yellow Crookneck—Is earlv and verv pro- ductive and of fine qualitv. All of the above are for Summer and should be u»ed when young and tender. Perfect Gem—Is a new varietv, and is most excellent for summer use or for a "late keeper. LATE AND LONG-KEEPING VARIETIES. American Turban—Flesh bright orange, thick, fine grained and good flavor. For Fall or late Use. Hubbard—Is a general favorite; one of the very be,t; fine grained, dry and excellent. Marblehead—Is like the Hubbard, but of lighter color; very sweet, dry and delicious, and good keeiier. Boston Marrow—Is well known as of fine flavor, good keeper and fine fall market variety. Cocoanut—Is very prolific; color light yel- low; (juality very superior. Winter Crookneck—Is sweet, close grain and ;t excellent flavor.
