September is Tourism Month, an annual campaign driven by the National Department of Tourism in partnership with provincial Tourism bodies, and the Cape Town and the Western Cape theme is ‘Water Connects Us’.
SIMONSTOWN, SOUTH AFRICA - Monday 9 September 2013 , Alan Winde MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism in the Western Cape (left) with Nadia Salie and Theo Prinsloo of ITB (Into the Blue) Scuba went scuba diving for cow sharks in False Bay. September is Tourism Month, an annual campaign driven by the National Department of Tourism in partnership with provincial Tourism bodies, and the Cape Town and the Western Cape theme is ‘Water Connects Us’. One of the most primitive shark species in the world, cow sharks are one of only two species that have seven gills and range in size from about to meters. This scuba experience took place in the kelp forests off the shoreline of Simonstown, where we went in search of our colony of cow sharks.
