Console tables, Giuseppe Barberi, Italian, 1746–1809, Pen and brown ink, brush and brown wash on off-white laid paper, Two left sides. The cornices of an entablature are supported by a two-legged winged chimera the tail of which is upward curved toward the center, where a helmet is, on top of the stem, between rinceaux. At right: the support is formed by two half-figures, recumbent, of lions ending with upward-turned rinceaux crossing each other. The rinceaux have two branches, one ending in a spiral upon the head of the lions. Upon it stands a swan supporting with neck and wings the top.
