Ancient Egyptian Stele of Pa-nehesi, 1314-1304 BC, 19th Dynasty, Saqqara. Kunsthistorisches Muesum Vienna AS 121. In the upper register of Pa-nehesi’s stele he and his relatives worship the funerary gods Osiris, Isis, and Nephthys. The Four Sons of Horus – also funerary deities – are depicted atop a lotus blossom. More family members are shown receiving offerings in the bottom register. The heavy wigs topped by tall cones of ointment are noteworthy.
