Andrew Pope, from Alpha Co. 1st Battalion, 114th Infantry Regiment, leads his soldiers across a muddy field to waiting helicopters as part of an air assault raid training mission here May 27, 2017. Pope and A Co. 1-114th are here as part of eXportable Combat Training Capability exercises which replicate real life battlefield scenarios. “This is our desk,” said Pope pointing towards the open field when asked about what has been the best part of training so far. “We get to be out here and actually do what we train to do.”
