A GOOD idea of the different sort of athletic contests atthe great Etruscan funerals is given by the wall-paintings inthe Tomba delle Iscrizioni at Corneto, described and copiedby Stackelberg and Kestner in 1827,^ and represented in theNy Carlsberg Glyptotek by facsimiles and coloured drawingsexecuted in 1907, after a chemical treatment of the plasterstucco, which brought out a number of details more plainly. ^ Pauly-Wissowa, iii. 2178.
