A Great egret perched in the branches of a mangrove tree in the Sontecomapan Lagoon, part of the Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve in Sontecomapan, Veracruz, Mexico. The lagoon which flows into the Gulf of Mexico is one of the best preserved coastal wetlands and mangroves forests in Mexico and part of the Los Tuxtlas biosphere reserve.
