T8 and 79, two examples, more to exhibit some-thing of the forms and conceits indulged in than to show the delicacyand precision of the work, which are perfect. Fig. 78 is termed ahiberon; it is but seven inches high. The upper part is white, theornaments yellow; and the lower part black, with white the shield underneath the spout are the three crescents 79 is a salt-cellar. After the decease of Madame Ilelene de Ilangest, who was thewidow of Arthur Gouffier, a o-entleman of rank, tlie manufacture ofthis peculiar ware was continued at the Chateau dOiron by her son,Claude Gouffier; but the production was still limited, and it is doubt-ful if any pieces were ever sold. It is therefore of great rarity andof corresponding money-value, only lifty-three specimens of it beingknown to exist. 13
