The hay of this varitey is greatly preferred by some to that of Red Clover, for the reason that it is generally finer, brighter and not so dusty, making it better for horses. It is perennial, and produces a mass of long, fibrous roots, which hold the soil, making it useful for permanent pasture on hillsides which are liable to wash. When used alone sow from eight to ten pounds per acre. Per 35c: 10 to 25 25o per lb.: 100 ). WHITE DUTCH CLOVER. (Trifolium repens.) A small variety, having a white blossom. It is of a \ining nature, spreading rapidly, and will soon cover bare spots if the stand be uneven. It does not attain sufficient height to be profitable for hay, but is superior for pasture, either for cattle or sheep, and unsurpassed for the production of honey. It also makes a beautiful lawn when mixed with Blue Grass. If sown alone, use six to eight pounds per acre. Harrow the soil until it is very fine before sow- ing. Per 35c: 10 to 25 21c per lb.: lOO lbs., $ WHITE CLOVER. BOKHARA CLOVER. The Bee Clover. Grows S to 5 feet high, covered with small, white flowers of great fragrance. Very valuable for Bee Pasture. Sow 10 lbs. to the acre.
