The shore batteries of the Italians could not depress low enough to shoot at her when her presence in the harbour was discovered. She sank three Italian ships of roughly four thousand tons each, as well as shelling targets on the shore at the closest possible range. After this daring raid the ship retreated out of the harbour and made a getaway despite intense fire. She was also the first British ship to put into Sollum after its capture. The pictures show -
