Practical human anatomy [electronic resource] : a working-guide for students of medicine and a ready-reference for surgeons and physicians . econd palmar interosseous mus-cle, and that of the third lumbricalis muscle, at the outerside ; the tendon of the dorsal portion of the fourth dorsalinterosseous muscle, at the inner side. The aponeurosis ofthe fifth digit is formed by: the tendon of the extensorminimi digiti muscle with the accessory tendon of the extensorcommunis digitorum muscle ; the tendon of the third palmarinterosseous muscle, and that of the fourth lumbricalis mus-cle, at the outer side. The aponeurosis of a digit is broadestin its phalanx portion, and opposite the distal portion of thatbone it trifurcates ; the middle slip of the trifurcation is at-tached to the base of the phalangine; the lateral slips areprojected upon the phalangine of the digit, where they blendinto one slip, which is continued to its attachment to the baseof the phalangette of the digit. As the aponeuroses cross thedigital joints they lie upon the posterior ligaments of thelatter. PLATE 163 TR/C £ PS TnnTcoXTZsYZ. E OL E CRA 2VONprocess. Ou CON J? YZ.
