The Royal Navy during the Second World War The tug CHERBOURGEOIS III towing a damaged grain ship believed to be SS SCORTON into harbour at Greenock. Men of the harbour tug dashed into the Atlantic to tow in the rudderless ship. After two days steaming at 5 knots in a heavy swell both vessels arrived safely.
