Certainly, their distinctive morphologies, gene sequences and char- acteristic geographic distributions argue that the Nooksack Dace has not exchanged genes with the Longnose Dace for a long time (, since well before the beginning of the last galciation and, per- haps, since before the Pleistocene)..
