It is a basin of water fringedaround by a dense growth of cocoanut palms, bananas, and othertropical vegetation. When these are reflected in the pool the waterseems to turn from a pale turquoise to a deep amethyst. With thesun shining full upon it from a cloudless noonday sky the waterappears a brilliant sapphire blue, presenting a wonderful picture ofvivid coloring, like a veritable sapphire in an emerald setting.
