Bovine genetics research. Geneticist analysing bovine DNA using BovineSNP50 BeadChips, a form of genetic analysis using microchip arrays. In this case, the device provides genotypic data and decodes a cow's genome at more than 50,000 locations. This data is used in cattle research ranging from genome selection to mapping of birth defects. This research is being carried out by the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of the US Department of Agriculture. Photographed in the USA.
