Massed against it at the left is the softlyblurred, yellow-olive-gray foliage of a bunch of three willows which occupy theforeground on this side. Against the trunk of one of them leans a womanwhose costume includes the suggestion of a red cape and a whitish apron overa drab petticoat. Her cows are strung along the waterside. A red and a whiteone are turned toward the right; a red with white head faces us, and a black,whose body is toward the water, looks round to the front. Signed nl the barer right, No. 282- JULES DUPRE FRENCH (1811-1889) MORNING Ox the left bank of a pool extending back from the right of the foregroundstands an oak. The white light catches its trunk and some of the grow out of a bunch of deep green foliage and are scantily fledged withyellowish-brown leafage, touched with rose at the top. A willow grows on aspit of bank that projects from the right. Here a punt lies, with a man init whose cap and shirt reflect the light sharply. Large white clouds float overthe horizon in a blue skv. Signed at the lower left, Jules Dupre. Height. 16 inches: width, 13 inches.
