Plant not less than 18 inches apart in rows or in masses in beds. When the plants are about a foot high the tops should be pinched out to induce a bushy growth. They prefer a rather lipht, not too rich soil, but do well almost anywhere. The sorts offered below produce the finest flowers, but bloom late, and for points north of Philadelphia it is safer to get the extra early flowering type. AUTUHN GIANT, or LENOX This, the latest development in this popular autumn flower, bears gigantic flowers, with wide, overlapping petals of splendid substance, making perfectly circular flowers, which is borne on very long stems.
