A portrait format, infrared image of Balmoral Castle on a sunny, summer's day, taken from the garden with a wrought iron bench in the foreground. I shot this image in both portrait and landscape formats. Infrared photography captures the near infrared light beyond the visibility of the human eye. The result is a beautiful, surreal image with a ghostly appearance. Trees and plants reflect the infrared rays and the sky absorbs the rays. Balmoral Castle will be very topical this summer with the imminent arrival of a new Royal baby.
