He has held anoffice in the church to which he belongs since1874; is now secretary of Christ Reformed churchof Beaver Springs, and treasurer of the JointConsistory of the Beaver Springs charge. Hebelongs to the G. A. R. Post 612 of this place, hasbeen Post Commander and passed all the chairsand has held the office of Quartermaster for thelast fourteen years in Chicago, member of Adamsburg Lodge No. 566I. O. O.
