Kilrain (real name John Joseph Killion) was a prominent fighter of the 1880s who is most famously remembered for his 1889 fight with John L Sullivan - the last world heavyweight championship fight decided with bare knuckles under London Prize Ring Rules. Sullivan emerged victorious when the contest was stopped by Kilrain's seconds after 75 rounds and two hours and 16 minutes of fighting.
